During this cultural tour you will explore 3 capital cities, and several historic towns, but also some of the natural splendors of the region: Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Croatia. After an in-depth sightseeing in Budapest, we travel to Beograde by train, see the breathtaking Serbian mountains, than visit Sarajevo and Mostar. Strilling through the markets, tasting the local cuisine and taking thousands of photos 🙂 We visit some of the best known, historic towns of Dalmatia, Croatia: Dubrovnik & Split and stop in Plitvice National Park to see its beautiful waterfalls before heading to the last destination: Zagreb.

Itinerary

Day 01: Your home destination – Budapest ( Hungary )

  • Arrive at Budapest airport, meet and greet by your local guide, private transfer to the hotel, check-in, short rest
  • Depending on your flight arrival, sightseeing in Budapest, either by foot or by bus
  • Evening: dinner at a local restaurant, orientation briefing about the tour

 

 

Day 02: Budapest ( Hungary )

  • After breakfast half day sightseeing in Budapest
  • We begin the sightseeing the City Park and Heroes’ square. After a walk there, we will pass by the Opera, St. Stephen’s Basilica and then we reach the building of the Hungarian Parliament.
  • Later drive up to the Castle, have a short walk with the most beautiful city skyline. Visit Matthias Church, one of the oldest and finest monuments of the capital, also known as Coronation Church, because several Hungarian kings were crowned there. Walk along Fishermen’s Bastion offering a magnificent view over Pest on the other side of the river.
  • Later: free time, shopping, relax
  • Evening: Walk in the famous entertainment district of Budapest, and, visit some of the famous “ruin” pubs.

 

Day 03: Budapest ( Hungary )

  • after breakfast we continue our sightseeing in Budapest, this time exploring the history and culture of Budapest: visit the House of Terror, take a walking tour exploring the city’s Art Novueau buildings, and Jewish heritage including the Great Synagogue of Dohány street.
  • Afternoon: free time, shopping, relax
  • Late-afternoon: We take a dinner cruise on the Danube river with live music.
  • After the cruise, we drive up to the Citadella to have a view over the city.

 

 

Day 04: Budapest ( Hungary ) – Beograd ( Serbia ) – night on train

  • Morning free time to explore the city on your own or relax
  • Around noon we go to the Grand Market Hall of Budapest, where we look around and have lunch. This will be a great opportunity to taste local food.
  • If time permits, we travel to Statue Park
  • Later visit one of Budapest’s famous baths, Széchenyi Bath
  • Light dinner, than we drive to the train station to get on our night train (2-4 berths comfortable couchettes).

 

Day 05: Beograd ( Serbia )

  • We arrive early in the morning, local bus transfer to our hotel, short refresh, breakfast
  • Sightseeing in Beograd
  • Evening: dinner in a typical Serbian restaurant

 

 

Day 06: Beograd ( Serbia ) – Sarajevo ( Bosnia and Hercegovina )

  • Today we drive across the Serbian mountains to Sarajevo. We will take a leisurely drive, we stop at villages and scenery spots along the way.
  • Late afternoon, check-in to our hotel
  • Evening: free time, walk in the city, relax

 

Day 07: Sarajevo ( Bosnia and Hercegovina )

  • After breakfast we explore the city on foot
  • Afternoon:  free time
  • Evening: dinner in a local restaurant

 

Day 08: Sarajevo ( Bosnia and Hercegovina ) – Mostar ( Bosnia and Hercegovina )

  • This morning we take a local bus to reach the medieval city of Mostar. Check in to the hotel, short refresh
  • We explore the city in the afternoon:
  • Evening: free time, walk in the city, relax

 

Day 09: Mostar ( Bosnia and Hercegovina ) – Dubrovnik ( Croatia )

  • After breakfast we take a guided tour to either Medjugorje and Kravica Waterfall or to Blagaj and Pocitelj
  • In the afternoon we take a bus and go to the seaside city of Dubrovnik. We have arrived to half time in our journey, we deserve some time to relax and enjoy the stunning city of Dubrovnik and the beautiful sea of the Adriatic

 

Day 10: Dubrovnik ( Croatia )

  • Free time, explore Dubrovnik.

 

Day 11: Dubrovnik ( Croatia )

  • Free time, explore Dubrovnik
  • Optional program: Short visit to Montenegro. Travel to Kotor Bay, admire the southernmost glacier bay of Europe, visit in the ancient city of Kotor, stop at Herceg Novi on the way.

 

Day 12: Dubrovnik ( Croatia ) – Split ( Croatia )

  • We will board a local bus this morning to go the city of Split
  • After arrival, check-in to hotel
  • Early evening: walk in the city, dinner in a local restaurant

 

Day 13: Split ( Croatia ) – Plitvice National Park ( Croatia )

  • This morning we continue our sightseeing in Split, visit the Diocletian’s Palace
  • In the afternoon we take a local bus and go to Croatia’s most famous national park
  • Check-in to hotel, free time, relax

 

Day 14: Plitvice National Park ( Croatia ) – Zagreb ( Croatia )

  • After breakfast we spend a couple of hours with exploring the national park, we trek along the lakes and waterfalls and take a panoramic train ride.
  • In the afternoon we go to the Zagreb by bus, check-in to hotel
  • Evening: farewell dinner in a local restaurant

 

Day 15: Zagreb ( Croatia ) – Your home destination

  • Depending on your flight schedule we take a sightseeing walk in the downtown
  • Transfer to the airport – say goodbye to each other, fly home
