Itinerary

Day 01: Bucharest (București, Romania)

  • Arrival to Bucharest, transfer to the city
  • Sightseeing in the city of Ceausescu with a bus (longer or shorter trip depending on arrival time)
  • Check-in, later dinner in the restaurant of the hotel

 

Day 02: Bucharest – Brașov (185 kms)

  • Breakfast from 8:30 AM
  • Depart at 9:30 AM, visit the beautiful and unique summer residence of the Romanian royal family at Sinaia (the Romanian royal family is related to the German Hohenzollern royal family, who have built the castle)
  • At 1:00 PM we arrive to a sparkling wine factory, which is famous since the beginning of the 19th century. We taste the local sparkling wine, than lunch.
  • In the afternoon, around 5:00 PM, we arrive to Brașov. – check.in at the hotel, than light walk in the city center before dinner.

         

Day 03: Brașov – Bran Castle – Brașov (100 km)

  • Breakfast at 8:00 AM
  • Sightseeing in the city from 9:00 AM
  • At 12:30 PM we travel to the castle of Drakula – we discover the fortress (also known as Bran castle)
  • From 4:00 PM visit to Prejmer, where we can find a unique fortress church, which was built in the 13th century. (open until 5:00 PM)
  • Return to Brașov for the night, freetime until dinner.


Day 04: Brasov – Sibiu (210 km)

  • Breakfast at 8:00 AM, than from 9:00 AM travel through one of the most beautiful places of Romania, to see glacier lake Balea at 2034 meters. This is where the villa of Ceasescu stands.
  • Around 6:00 PM arrive to Sibiu (also known as Negyszeben), check-in at the hotel, freetime, wellness.

 

Day 05: Sibiu – Sighișoara (113 km)

  • Breakfast from 8:00 AM, than sightseeing in Sibiu.
  • Around 3:00 PM depart to Sighișoara (also known as Segesvár). On the route we pass Medgyes (Mediaș) and Berethalom (Biertan).
  • Arrival late at night. Check-in at hotel, dinner.


Day 06: Sighișoara – Râmetea (160 km)

  • Breakfast from 8:30 AM, than around 9:30 we strat exploring the fortress of Sighișoara.
  • Around 2:00 PM arrive to Turda (also known as Torda), where we visit the famous salt mine that dates back to the Roman times.
  • Around 5:00 PM we arrive to Râmetea (also known as Torockó). Explore the village, check-in and later dinner.
  • Night in the neighbouring village, Coltești (also known as Torockószentgyörgy)

 

Day 07: Râmetea – Cluj-Napoca – Tokaj, Hungary (350 km)

  • Breakfast at 7:30 AM, than travel to Cluj-Napoca (also known as Kolozsvár) around 8:30 AM.
  • From 10:00 AM short sightseeing.
  • Later we cross the Romanian-Hungarian border and travel to Tokaj with short stops.
  • Check in to hotel, short rest then visit a local wine cellar, taste some of the famous wines made in the region, dinner

 

Day 08: Tokaj – Budapest (230 km)

  • Breakfast at the hotel
  • On route to Budapest short sightseeing and light lunch in the city of Eger.
  • Check-in at hotel, sightseeing in the city, visit the famous Szechenyi Bath.
  • Night in Budapest.


Day 09: Budapest

  • Full day sightseeing in the city. We explore the Buda castle, walk along the bank of river Danube in Pest, see the Basilica, Heroes’ square.
  • Farewell cruise on the river Duna with buffet dinner and live gipsy music.
  • Night in Budapest.

 

Day 10: Budapest – Home

  • If time permits, freetime, sightseeing, shopping, leisure.
  • Transfer to the airport, board flight to home.
