The spring fair is usually held around Easter holiday in Budapest. The location has been Vörösmarty square in the heart of Budapest for many years now, but this year – due to the construction works there – the fair needed to be held on an other place.
Appearantly, they managed to find and even more spectacular site as a replacement: the Danube promenade! As the promenade has less space, more locations were joining – all of them more central than the other. If you happen to be around Budapest during or before Easter: you might run into sweet stalls, artisan products and street food vendors at any focal point of the city!
Stroll among the charming stalls, browse through local, hand-made items like clothing, jewellery, cosmetics and toys, try some local food, find the perfect souvenirs, or just mingle listening to Hungarian bands performing live on the temporary stages.
Spring is one of the best times to visit Central Europe, with a usually sunny weather, but don’t forget to wear layered clothing, and bring both sunglasses and a light raincoat! 🙂
